As part of their World War 2 topic, 6T had first hand experience of being evacuated by train and selected by local Rhiwbina residents and shop keepers. Thank you to the staff at Signor Barbers, Nest, Rayboulds Butchers and Beulah Tea Rooms and their guests for giving the children such a brilliant first hand experience of what it must have been like to have been a WW2 evacuee. Matt Jones visits Rhiwbina

Posted by: webmaster on 09/12/2011 04:29

Welsh football hero Matt Jones visited Year 6 as part of the 'Raise Your Game' campaign, fronted by Colin Jackson, a previous visitor to school last year. In an inspiring question and answer session, Matt talked to Year 6 about his footballing career, cut short by injury, and his fight to develop a career outside football. His simple message was that by aiming high, showing resilience in the face of adversity and pushing ourselves to be the best we can, we can achieve anything we set our sights on.

Movember

Posted by: webmaster on 09/12/2011 04:43

During the month of November, you may have noticed some unsightly facial hair on a few of our male staff members. Mr Thomas, Mr Hammond, Mr Dugdale and Mr Hurrell all grew a various array of moustaches for the 'Movember Campaign' helping to raise money and awareness for Prostate Cancer. The horrific looking 'Mo's' were removed in a public shave off at lunchtime on 1st December. Thank you to all of the children and parents who donated. So far we have raised over £100 for this fantastic cause. We're looking forward to next year's designs already.
