Rugby Treble Champions!! |
Posted by: webmaster on 18/05/2012 03:47
Huge congratulations to our school rugby team who won the 'Cardiff Sinclair Cup Final' last night! They overcame Ysgol Berllan Deg 10-5 in a very tightly fought contest at Rumney Playing Fields. Very well done to both teams for the high levels of skill and determination on show. Particular praise must go to Joe and Oliver for scoring our two crucial tries which helped us seal the victory! This achievement has capped a wonderful season for the team who have gone unbeaten in 13 games and in doing so have also won the Cardiff Schools League and 10-Aside Tournament! Fantastic achievement on winning the treble! Thanks so much to all of the squad!
A few thank yous... many thanks to Mr Sion Williams and his Berllan Deg side for such an excellent example of sportsmanship after a very close and gruelling game. Thank you to Mr Iwan Davies for the use of Ysgol Bro Eirwg's pitch and facilities and many thanks to referee Neil Hennessy who took time out of his busy preparations for the Heineken Cup Final to oversee the fixture! A big thank you once again to Westco for sponsoring our fantastic kit. Finally, a very special thank you to all our parents who've braved all weathers this year to consistently support the team!... and wash the kit!!
More photos to follow next week!

Our Sherman Dance Troop! |
Posted by: webmaster on 04/04/2012 01:25
Pupils from Miss Denty's Dance Club had a taste of showbiz when they performed a high energy dance in the Sherman Theatre. Rhiwbeina Primary School dancers were amongst other Cardiff school dancers to dazzle on stage. The Schools Dance Association organised the event and gave this years theme as 'Around the World'.
Dressed in black leotards and neon skirts, the group amazed the audience with their splits, lifts and jumps to Dario G - Carnival de Paris. Well done and thank you to all the dancers - it was a performance to remember.
See our block 'Our Sherman Dance!' to watch us perform for the whole school! |

Matt Jones visits Rhiwbina |
Posted by: webmaster on 09/12/2011 04:29
Welsh football hero Matt Jones visited Year 6 as part of the 'Raise Your Game' campaign, fronted by Colin Jackson, a previous visitor to school last year. In an inspiring question and answer session, Matt talked to Year 6 about his footballing career, cut short by injury, and his fight to develop a career outside football. His simple message was that by aiming high, showing resilience in the face of adversity and pushing ourselves to be the best we can, we can achieve anything we set our sights on.
